• If you use a VPN to allow you to connect to PPS from anywhere, if the VPN is turned off this can throw an error when you boot PPS.
  •  If PPS throws an error that you cannot connect to the server and you use a VPN in this way, open Hamachi VPN and make sure that it is turned on. 
  • Then reopen PPS and see if that fixed the database connection issue. If not, then the issue is not VPN-related.
